Hard floor cleaning is one of the premium services office managers require for their premises, which you will not see in a domestic cleaning package. Most large-scale corporate buildings have hard floors – either some type of natural stone or terracotta tiles – especially in the general areas like foyers, lobbies, and hallways. So what do you do if this is your first corporate cleaning job and you do not possess the requisite equipment?

I know some cleaning managers who would try to convince themselves and their crews that this is just another floor cleaning job, only bigger. The quicker you disabuse yourself from such nonsense, the better. To answer the question in the title of this post directly – no, you cannot provide good hard-floor cleaning without heavy-duty equipment.

First of all, the task would require too much time if you ever tried to do it with a mop – the lobby of a large corporate headquarters could be hundreds of square feet large. Second, you will come nowhere near the required efficiency – especially when dealing with persistent stains or stretch marks.

So what are your options? There are only two, really. Option number one – bite the bullet and make the necessary equipment investment. Trust me, it will repay itself in the long run. Option number two – delegate the job to a subcontractor. I would choose the latter if I were pressed by a deadline.
